Madhubani is a form of Art practised in the Mithila region of Nepal and the Indian state of Bihar. The paintings are done with twigs, brushes, matchsticks, pen nibs and fingers. There are paintings for every occasion and festival. Mithila Art is believed to have its origin in Mithila, the kingdom of King Janak.
