Exquisite dull gold figurines are handcrafted with lost wax technique or hollow casting method by the tribals of Chattisgarh. Traditionally, the Ghadwas of Bastar and Jharas of Raigarh practise this form of metal craft. The craft dates back to the Mohenjodaro period and gets it's name from the 'Dhokra Damar' tribe. The craft is also practised in West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.
